Questions that you always wanted to ask about dentures.


1- How often do I need to see a dental professional when I wear dentures?

An annual exam is recommended since denture teeth wear out unevenly and the bite needs to be adjusted by your dental professional for maintaining equal contact, and to get rid of any possible soars. Patients need annual exam for oral cancer screening. The risk for oral cancer increases with age, tobacco use, and frequent use of alcohol.


2 - How do I clean my dentures?

Rinse off loose particles under the running water. Moisten the brush and apply the cleanser. There are special brushes and cleaning material that helps cleaning the dentures. You should also keep your dentures out at night in denture bath with cleaning solution such as Stain Away.


3- What are the latest technology in making dentures and partials?

The 21st century offers a much more natural choice of colors for artificial gums and teeth. New processing methods ensure the best possible fit, function and comfort. We use much more durable teeth for long term usage of partial and dentures. Metal free partial, consist of tooth color frame and clasps for better cosmetic appearance and function. This is also great for patients who are allergic to metal or who don’t want metal showing in their mouth.


4- What are Mini Implants?

Mini Implants are affordable denture Implants which cost less compared to regular implants. It is also a great option for patients with minimal bone left on the jaw bone. Patients can enjoy biting on an apple and tear steaks with no movements of dentures, and Mini implants also get ride of the palate portion of upper denture.


5 - When do I need to replace my old dentures?

On average, dental professionals seem to be replacing dentures somewhere between four to eight years. Each individual's denture needs are different. There are some factors that a licensed dental professional takes into consideration when evaluating the need to replace dentures.


6- Can a denture be repaired or relined?

Yes. Normally, this procedure can be done in the office on the same day of appointment.


7 - Who is a Denturist?

Denturists specialize in making dentures and partials. In the state of WA they pass a board exam and becomes a licensee denturist. They have intensive training in this field and are familiar with all of the details and latest technology of making quality dentures.


8- What is an immediate denture?

An immediate denture is inserted as soon as the remaining teeth are removed. In our office we can extract and place the denture at same time and location. With immediate dentures, the denture wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing period.
